Director of Marketing

At Genus Technologies, we help customers solve complex digital transformation challenges through the use of intelligent document capture, content services, and process transformation solutions. We provide software, consulting and support services. We build repeatable solutions to complement our channel partners (Kofax, IBM, and Nuxeo) offerings with our own intellectual property. We are an experienced team of engineers, developers, creative thinkers, problem solvers, and overall smart people.

Who We are Looking For:

We’re looking for a talented, hard working person to lead our marketing department.  You will manage our small marketing team and work closely with the sales team and practice leaders as well as our executive leadership team.  We expect the activities of the marketing team to have a direct impact on our ability to get more leads from our channel partners, increase our sales pipeline directly from end users, and “grow our footprint” in existing customers.  

Primary Responsibilities:

You will be a direct report of the Chief Operating Officer and be responsible for prioritizing and managing the activities of the marketing department, including:

  • Bridging the gap between Genus technical experts and the sales team to translate our technical capabilities into a value-based message
  • Refining the Genus marketing strategy: what we say (content strategy) and how we say it(website, social media, direct B2B, etc.)
  • Developing a robust direct to customer (B2B) lead generation program
  • Creating and coordinating creation of compelling sales and marketing collateral to drive customer and partner adoption and enable sales efforts (including white papers, data sheets, case studies, presentations, videos, webinars, web pages, etc.)
  • Supporting account-based sales efforts and presales opportunities (i.e. designing demos for pre-sales presentations, etc.) to align with Genus’ vendor-specific practices model
  • Developing and clearly communicating the Genus value proposition to channel partners, customers, and prospects
  • Working across the organization to support development of service and solution offerings based on feedback from client-facing teams, customers, and competitive research
  • Keeping abreast of industry news, the competitive landscape, and other valuable market intelligence to help guide the leadership team

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience marketing professional services and software sales in the B2B space
  • Sales/field enablement experience (crafting messaging, training materials, sales pitch decks, etc.)
  • Experience communicating clearly and effectively in a variety of mediums and formats, from PowerPoint to website, blog post to white paper
  • Strong attention to the details of word, phrase, tone, and message
  • A 4-year degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • A “can-do” attitude and the ability to tackle challenges in a positive and thoughtful way
  • A Deep understanding of current digital media landscape and trends; an omnichannel mindset

Rock Star Qualifications

  • Experience in content services, process automation, and/or enterprise business process management
  • Strong competitive research skills and experience
  • Demonstrated record of success using marketing technologies including CRM (we use Sugar), marketing automation (we use ActiveCampaign), web, video/webinar, production, analytics, and social media
  • Experience in use of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)
